Unit Information

If you like working with and helping people, from childcare to aged care, this is the starting point for you.

Studied over the course of one year, this qualification may be used as a pathway for workforce entry as community services workers who provide a first point of contact and assist individuals in meeting their immediate needs. At this level, work takes place under direct, regular supervision within clearly defined guidelines.

  • HLTWHS001 Participate in workplace health and safety
  • BSBWOR202 Organise and complete daily work activities

Elective units will involve skills such as: working within a community framework, managing personal stress in the workplace, and strategies to respond to routine workplace problems.
