In this course you will delve into the writing techniques needed to write a high quality spy story of your own. Using extracts from the range of different texts, including the very famous James Bond series by Ian Fleming, you will identify and use a range of techniques to develop your own spy story.

You will study a range of short spy fiction extracts, analysing these by looking at style and generic conventions. This study will help you identify the characters, description, pace, setting and tone needed to construct an engaging spy story.

There will be an extensive focus on the writing process and key aspects of grammar and sentence construction will be integrated into each lesson. You are expected to create many pre-writing pieces (such as character sketches, setting descriptions, and plot outlines) and two rough drafts before presenting your final published draft.
