Principal's Welcome
Thank you for choosing Joseph Banks Secondary College for your child’s secondary education. Whether you are a new or existing family we are confident that as a school community we will provide multiple opportunities for your child to achieve success in an innovative learning environment.
In preparation for the coming school year, information is provided at the bottom of the page with quick links for all families for the 2023 school year, including Book and Resources Lists.
In the interest of sustainability, hard copies will not be posted home.
If required, we do have a small number of printed copies in the office, so you are welcome to come into Main Reception if you would like a copy.
End of Term 4 2022, Start of Term 1 2023
Please note the last day of school for students is Thursday 15 December 2022.
The first day of school for students next year is Wednesday 1 February 2023.
For Year 12 Students, the coming school year will be a very busy. Information with key dates on the College Ball and Presentation Evening will be communicated to parents at the beginning of the school year. We will use SEQTA to communicate and information will be shared via our Facebook Page.
Office Hours over the School Holidays
Please note that Joseph Banks Secondary College will close on Friday 16 December 2022 at 4.00pm and will reopen on Tuesday 24 January 2023 at 8.00am.
Our College will be closed on Friday 27 January.
Office hours when we reopen are, Monday to Friday 8.00am to 4.00pm.
During January, Wednesday 4 January 2023 to Tuesday 24 January 2023, we have a small number of staff on Campus between 9am to 3pm. If you have any queries, please contact the College on 9303 7400.

Booklists, finances, uniform and other information
Please access the links to the right hand side (or below on mobile devices) of this section for all the resources and information that families will need to prepare their young person for the 2023 school year. It is important that families ensure they are familiar with the information contained within all of the listed pages.
Student Timetables
Student timetables are expected to be released on SEQTA in late January of 2023. For new students, access to SEQTA will be available once your iPad or Device is configured by the IT Service Desk. If families are unsure how to access SEQTA or view future timetables, they should contact the IT Service Desk.
BYOD Portal
Families that are purchasing a new device for their young person in 2023 are invited to access discounted pricing through our BYOD Portal. Click the icon for more information.
School Starts
All students start the 2023 school year on Wednesday 1 February 2023 at 8:50am. Families will be advised by the College of the location students should meet on day one in late January through Social Media and E-Mail.
