Course Information

In Behind the Music, students will explore the evolution of contemporary music from 1950’s Rock’n’Roll to 1980’s Synth-Pop and beyond. Students will recognise and distinguish between the characteristics of musical sub-genres from a range of contexts. Opportunities will be provided to develop skills, knowledge, and an understanding and appreciation of Music as an art form. They will reflect, offer, and accept feedback to improve and refine their music making, and justify musical choices when composing and performing. Students will compare and discuss the music they listen to, explaining their musical preferences.

Students are encouraged to learn an Instrument or voice to enhance understanding of the concepts covered in class.
