Dear Families,

Welcome to the 2022 school year at Joseph Banks Secondary College. We are looking forward to working with your child this year. To ensure that students have a smooth start to the year, please find communication around Day One arrangements.  We have also attached an important message from Education Department about keeping children safe upon returning to school.

Arrangements for students Day One Monday 31^st January 2022.

Middle School:

Year 7 , 8 and 9 students and their Contact Teachers will meet at 8: 50am for a short Welcome Address in the gymnasium led by Mrs Scott. Students will then accompany their Contact Teacher to their Community Space for a Learning Community assembly, led by their Leading Teacher. After the Community assembly, Contact Teachers will then return to their Contact class to continue discussions around Middle School and classroom expectations and check student access to SEQTA (log in, password reset, Zuludesk.) Normal classes will commence at the start of Period 2.

Year 7 students will be provided with a hard copy of their timetable when they return to their Contact class. Year 8 and 9 students will have access to their timetables via SEQTA from Friday 28^th January 2022.

Senior School:

Year 10 students and their Contact Teachers will meet at 8:50am for an assembly in the Endeavour Theatre led by Mr Wass and Ms Williamson. After the Enterprise Community assembly, Contact Teachers will then return to their Contact class to continue discussions around Senior School and classroom expectations and check student access to SEQTA (log in, password reset, Zuludesk.) Normal classes will commence at the start of Period 2.

Year 11 students and their Contact Teachers will meet at 8: 50am for an assembly in the main quad led by Mrs O’Hagan. After the Artemis Community assembly Contact Teachers will then return to their Contact class to continue discussions around Senior School and classroom expectations and check student access to SEQTA (log in, password reset.) Normal classes will commence at the start of Period 2.

Year 12 students and their Contact Teachers will meet at 8: 50am for an assembly in the area between Solander and The Grove led by Mr Muir and Mrs Hunter. After the Djinda Community assembly Contact Teachers will then return to their Contact class to continue discussions around Senior School and classroom expectations and check student access to SEQTA (log in, password reset.) Normal classes will commence at the start of Period 2.

Year 10, 11 and 12 students will have access to their timetables via SEQTA from Friday 28^th January 2022.

Note: In preparation for the release of student timetables via SEQTA on Friday January 28^th, please check that you and your child can access SEQTA. If you are unable to, please visit voyager.jbsc.wa.edu.au and contact the IT Service Desk for support.

In addition, separate communication will be sent out later in the week regarding COVID protocols for the start of term.
