Netball Academy & Certificate II Sport and Recreation

Course Information

Do you have a desire to extend your skills and tactics in Netball? Do you want to develop your umpiring skills and understanding of injuries to take your Netball knowledge to the next level?

This course will explore rich content including developing physical skills and tactics; strength and Conditioning; umpiring skills; prevention of injuries; injury management; rehabilitation; along with developing and implementing training sessions focusing on the progression and regression of skill development.

Students will engage in two Physical Education classes per week as well as an accreditation in Certificate II Sport & Recreation for four periods.

Along with the completion of the Certificate II Sport & Recreation, student’s will be provided with the opportunity to complete the Netball Australia foundation umpire course which leads into higher umpiring qualifications.

Students in the Academy are expected to compete for the school in SSWA competitions and the Netball WA Multicultural Carnival as they arise throughout the year. This course will also provide students with the opportunity to attend the middle school lightning carnivals as coaches or umpires.

Preference will be given to students who are current members of the Academy; additional students may be included subject to availability of places. Contracts will be given to ensure students are maintaining the values of the Netball Academy.
