This Year 9 elective will build and expand upon the introductory woodwork hand and machine skills covered in Year 8. You will be familiarised with a variety of new machines and their safe use, including between centres turning on the wood lathe, band sawing curves, plate joining various pieces of timber and routering various edge profiles.

Projects to be made include a decorative cutting board, a toolbox and a CO2 powered drag racer. You will design, build and ultimately race against your classmates and the teacher to determine who really has the best skills in woodwork!
