Year 7 Team Building Day!
On Friday, 25 February 2022, we held our inaugural Team Building Day for our Year 7s. The purpose of the day was to support our Year 7s as they transition to high school to develop positive relationships across their cohort to ensure their success at the college.
Students engaged in a series of team challenges and games, developing their skills to communicate effectively, work in a team and problem solve. The students enjoyed the opportunity to take a break from the classroom and engaged in fun, coordinated team challenges that tested them both physically and mentally. Thank you to Total Team Building for coordinating the morning session.
In the afternoon, our Youth Support Workers ran targeted workshops to familiarise our Year 7 students with our College values around Respect, Resilience, Inquiry and Aspiration. These values are the pillars of our college, and it is important that our students understand what they mean and how it applies to them in and out of the classroom, as well as in our community.
Feedback from the students was that it was a fun day, and they enjoyed all the activities, but the stand out was the Treasure Hunt at the end, where they scrambled around to collect the clues and work out the code to the treasure chest.
Our winning team included: Jonathan Jobin, Jake Corbett, Ishaan Mannan, Ashlee Scholz, Kiera O’Malley and Samira Syahril (pictured above).
