Course Information

In this course you will be introduced to established and contemporary techniques in drawing and printmaking practices, experimenting with lino, screen-printing, collagraph, and other printmaking processes. Through these approaches, you will explore a wide range of materials to find visual solutions to artistic challenges.

You will learn how to draw from life and use your imagination to print with both conventional and unconventional materials. Additionally, you will develop an understanding of composition, form, and space to create dynamic, impactful works of art. Your projects will result in a collection of beautiful and expressive pieces art forms.

This course will also touch on other art disciples such as painting and ceramics to ensure a range of skills and techniques and discipline areas are covered to meet the interests of the students in the course.

The theoretical aspects of this course focus on gaining an appreciation for art in both traditional and contemporary contexts, including influences from various cultures. You will analyse, compare, and contrast artistic styles while exploring big questions in visual art to deepen your curiosity and critical thinking.
