This is a foundation elective. It will introduce you to the processes involved in creating your very own jewellery and covers important workshop safety considerations. This elective will include skills such as filing, shaping, soldering, applying textures and finishes to a range of materials. Brass, copper and nickel silver are used to create a range of jewellery items including rings, bracelets and pendants. You will develop an awareness of other materials including cubic zirconia’s, gemstones, mother of pearl and aluminium. This is a great elective to do in order to develop artistic and creative ability and teaches you valuable practical skills. It provides an excellent foundation for Year 10 Jewellery and also Senior School Jewellery.
