The Heat Is On!

Discover how the nature of heat flow is responsible for everything from your suntan to a home-cooked meal. You will also discover how all living things cope with heat energy and learn about the mechanisms and behaviours each has to thermoregulate.

The Sportswriter

In this course you will read about player stats and research and craft profiles about your favourite sports stars. You will also learn about how different media organisations choose to represent sport stars and how misrepresentation of a player’s life can lead to controversy.

Visual Art Academy (Year 10)

The Year 10 Visual Art Academy course focuses on making and exploring images in drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics and sculpture. In this course you will be encouraged to work in a more independent manner in a studio environment developing and experimenting with a variety of techniques and processes to refine and reflect a personal aesthetic.

Wood Machining

In this course students will be exposed to new machinery, including faceplate turning a bowl on the wood lathe, sharpening a chisel on the sharpening machine and routering various edge profiles.

World War II

Through the lens of an historian, you will critically examine World War II by using and creating questions for inquiry, based on a range of sources and build on your understandings of the key historical concepts.

Writing for Purpose

In Writing for a Purpose, you will learn how to write a range of texts, focusing on the importance of structure, clarity and using language to effectively influence your audience.
