Course Information

Learn how to draw and print in a variety of ways. Develop and refine your skills in drawing and printing real and imagined subjects and develop your studio habits. You will be introduced to established and contemporary techniques in drawing and printmaking-using lino, etching, screen-printing, collagraph and other printmaking techniques to explore a wide range of art materials to find visual solutions to challenges in your creations.

You will learn how to draw from life and use your imagination to print with conventional and unconventional materials and backgrounds. You will also learn how to set up a dynamic composition for maximum impact. You will create several beautiful art pieces utilising drawing and printmaking. The theoretical aspects of this course focus on gaining an appreciation for art in both traditional and contemporary society as well as from other cultures. You will also analyse, compare/contrast and explore big questions in visual art to develop your curiosity. This will build the perfect foundation for further studies in art in Senior School and beyond.
