Leon has worked in the education sector for 30 years. During this time, he has undertaken teaching roles at schools the Kimberley, Wheatbelt and in Perth metropolitan area. As a school administrator, he worked at Mirrabooka SHS, Ocean Reef SHS and at Joseph Banks Secondary College, leading Technologies, VET and as a Deputy Principal.

He was involved in the transition to the WACE, supporting the implementation of MDT – Wood Metal & Textiles, Engineering and Building & Construction courses. He was a member of ARMS panels for MDT and Engineering for the Curriculum Council / SCSA, worked as a moderator to maintain course standards across the state and assisted other schools to develop compliant WACE programs.

Currently he manages the teacher relief processes at the College to create planning and professional learning opportunities for staff, coordinates the maintenance work around the campus, works with staff on planning excursions and mentors Leading Teachers and Domain Leaders.
