Welcome to The Arts
In the Arts, we advocate the use of critical and creative thinking skills through enquiry-based learning in the contexts of Visual Arts, Media, Design, Music, Drama and Dance. We offer a diverse range of pathways that can lead to further studies at TAFE or University and the creation of a portfolio of work that can lead to jobs within the Arts industries. The Arts also offer a great balance to the STEM subjects and can help students express their beliefs and values in a creative way, using problems solving skills.

Advertising and Music Videos
Advertising and Music Videos focuses on developing your knowledge and understanding of marketing and advertising.
Art Now!
Contemporary art practice is no longer bound to realistic representation and the artist is free to express and explore ideas through whatever methods best communicates them. The re-interpreting of conventional images and concepts has allowed artists to question what has come before, re-interpreting the past and finding their own language to communicate their vision within the art context.
Behind the Scenes
In this course you will learn the skills and knowledge to undertake the numerous roles needed to create a professional piece of theatre such as costume designer, stage manager, producer and set designer.
Dance
Throughout this course, students will explore a range of dance styles, techniques, and genres, and develop their abilities in choreography and performance.
Digital Arts

The Year 10 Drama Academy helps equip you with the skills necessary to become a proficient, creative, observant and multi-skilled performer in the industry.
Drawing and Painting
Develop and refine your skills in drawing and painting real and imagined subjects and develop your studio habits.
Drawing and Printmaking
You will be introduced to established and contemporary techniques in drawing and printmaking-using lino, etching, screen-printing, collagraph and other printmaking techniques to explore a wide range of art materials to find visual solutions to challenges in your creations.
Electronic Sound Design
Electronic Sound Design is a course that will have you exploring different ways of creating original sounds through the use of GarageBand.
Graphic Design
Graphic designers find beauty within limitations, working towards the ultimate goal of visually communicating a message. Using a language of type and imagery, graphic designers try to make every aspect of our lives defined and beautiful. If you are interested in Art and Computing with an aspect of Enterprise, then this course is for you.
Media Academy (Year 10)
In this course you will be exposed to different types of photography including portraits, still life, nature, panoramas and flash photography.
Music Academy (Year 10)
The Music Academy program is a hands-on course, focusing on the practical exploration of musical conventions.
Photography and Film
This exciting course centres on the practices of photography and film. Students will focus on the practical aspects of photography and film and will gain the skills and knowledge to build a portfolio of their work. They will be able to work comfortably with both types of media and will gain valuable skills needed to work independently in the studio.
Song Writing 101
In this course, you will join forces with other students to learn what it means to effectively collaborate and compose your own original music.
Visual Art Academy (Year 10)
The Year 10 Visual Art Academy course focuses on making and exploring images in drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics and sculpture. In this course you will be encouraged to work in a more independent manner in a studio environment developing and experimenting with a variety of techniques and processes to refine and reflect a personal aesthetic.
Year 11 & 12
Design (Graphic Design) (General)
In the Design General course students develop skills and processes for current and future industry and employment markets.
Drama (General)
The Drama General course focuses on drama in practice and aesthetic understanding as students integrate their knowledge and skills.
Media Production and Analysis (General)
The Media Production and Analysis General course aims to prepare students for a future in a digital and interconnected world by providing the skills, knowledge and understandings to tell their own stories and interpret the stories of others.
Music (ATAR)
Through the practical study of Music, both individually and with others, students grow in confidence as musicians by engaging in opportunities to perform, compose, analyse and develop music literacy.
Visual Arts (General)
In the Visual Arts General course, students engage in traditional, modern and contemporary media and techniques within the broad areas of art forms.
